About CharityChannel. CharityChannel, founded in 1992, is a resource that connects you to your nonprofit colleagues around the corner and around the world. Our Purpose: To foster a place where nonprofit professionals can learn from each other, share information and work together to advance the cause of philanthropy. The CharityChannel community is comprised of nonprofit-sector professionals who volunteer their time, advice, information, tips and articles for the benefit of the community.

About the 2010 CharityChannel Summit. CharityChannel anticipates that the 2010 CharityChannel Summit will attract more than 700 attendees from across the country and internationally. The average number of session attendees at each workshop at past conferences is 35. The CharityChannel Summits, Established in 2003, attract the top experts in leadership and fundraising who conduct original, best-practices workshops and presentations. Conference participants enjoy workshops on a wide variety of topics presented by the most experienced and knowledgeable experts in their respective fields. Workshop presenters are experienced, in-the-trenches colleagues having demonstrable records of achievement in their field and top standing among their professional peers.

The conference has become known as one of the best ways to strengthen your skills and prepare to move to the top of your field. Attendees include nonprofit leaders and administrators, colleagues who work in all aspects of fund development, consultants, attorneys, and more. Indeed, attendees mirror the CharityChannel professional community, which, with tens of thousands of participants, is a cross-section of the third sector professional community.

The 2010 conference includes a unique collaboration with the annual conference of the American Association of Grant Professionals (AAGP), allowing participants of both the CharityChannel Summit and the AAGP conference to participate in workshops and presentations from either conference. Plenary sessions, meals and other events will include participants from both conferences, for a richer, more professionally rewarding conference experience. The CharityChannel professional community is donating all net proceeds from the conference registrations, sponsors and exhibits to AAGP, to further the important work of this vital organization.

Who Should Attend?

Attendees’ Professional Levels: While beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend the conference, the CharityChannel Summit is especially geared toward intermediate to advanced professionals, who are the majority of CharityChannel Summit attendees. Workshop presenters assume that the attendee is experienced and competent in his/her field, but is attending to stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field, and even to glimpse what future trends. Attendees are encouraged and expected to proactively participate in the peer-to-peer give and take of each Summit session.

Presentation Topics:  Presentation topics follow two tracks:

  • Nonprofit Fundraising

  • Nonprofit Leadership

CharityChannel Summit workshop presentation applications are being accepted through February 28. Once the sessions have been finalized, they will be posted here and all registrants will be notified by email.

CharityChannel Summit: Outdoor session

The conference Leadership track is especially relevant for nonprofit CEOs/Executive Directors, vice-presidents, directors and other senior members of the management team. The Fundraising track is especially relevant for senior members of the fund development office (director level and up). Attendees represent a wide array of nonprofit organizations and educational institutions, large and small — just as you would expect of a conference by and for the CharityChannel professional community.

If you haven't yet attended a CharityChannel Summit, a good way to get a sense of the workshops is to view a sample of programming from a prior CharityChannel Summit.
