The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Cutting-Edge Basic Research Award (CEBRA) is designed to foster highly innovative or conceptually creative research related to drug abuse and addiction and how to prevent and treat them. It supports research that is high-risk and potentially high-impact that is underrepresented or not included in NIDA's current portfolio. There are multiple deadlines.

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Child Support Enforcement, (OCSE), invites applications from State Title IV-D agencies for Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 funding of activities intended to add to the knowledge and promote the objectives of the Child Support Enforcement Program, Partnerships to Strengthen Families: Child Support Enforcement/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families/University Partnership Demonstration Projects, under Section 1115 and Title IV-D of the Social Security Act. These projects would support partnerships among State Child Support Enforcement and TANF agencies and university scholars and researchers for research and data analyses to inform Title IV-D agency policy and program implementation and improve coordination with the Title IV-D agency partners.

This notice from the Environmental Protection Agency announces the availability of funds and solicits applications from eligible entities to compete for financial assistance through the Climate Showcase Communities Grant Program. This program will assist local and tribal governments in developing plans, conducting demonstrations, and implementing projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions while achieving additional environmental, economic, public health, and/or community benefits. The overall goal of the Climate Showcase Communities program is to create replicable models of sustainable community action that generate cost-effective and persistent greenhouse gas reductions while improving the environmental, economic, public health, or social conditions in a community.
